Belfast has been chosen as the venue for the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in 2026. It will be the first time the event takes place in the city.
Expected attendance is around 650,000, resulting in an economic impact of at least €70m.
The festival is scheduled from 2 August to 9 August 2026, creating opportunities for local volunteers.
Micky Murray shqred .”I have no doubt that the Fleadh in Belfast will be something unique. It will be a truly inclusive festival that will allow all our citizens – and visitors from near and far – to celebrate together.”
Labhrás Ó Murchú, shared. “It’ll be just the second in its 75-year history that the Comhaltas Fleadh Cheoil will be held north of the border. The legacy of the 2014 Comhaltas Fleadh in Derry City is still widely spoken about, making this a fantastic opportunity for Belfast to create its own legacy.”
