
The Tourism Authority of Thailand shared: Following yesterday’s earthquake (28th), the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) can report as of 29th March:
- The situation in Bangkok has returned to normal
- Businesses have resumed operations
- Tourist attractions and shopping malls are open as usual
- Planned festivals and events will go ahead as scheduled including upcoming Songkran (Thai New Year)
- Assessments are still taking place across the city to ensure safety.
- Airports and transport systems have been assessed and are back in operation with minimal disruption.
The Irish embassy in Bangkok shared: Any citizens currently in Thailand or Myanmar and in need of consular assistance can contact the Embassy on +66 2 016 1360. For those in Ireland concerned about those travelling in the region, please contact the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Consular Assistance line at +353 1 408 2527.
The advice not to travel to Myanmar is unchanged. Mandalay airport remains closed.
