Waterford City and County Council has granted planning permission to Harcourt Developments for the first phase of the North Quays Strategic Development Zone, which will include a mix of residential, office, and hotel accommodations.

The development features significant elements such as a 160-bedroom hotel and conference centre, a 163-room aparthotel, and 350 residential units, as well as retail spaces and public realm improvements

Over the next six years, the investment in the North Quays development is expected to exceed €350 million, employing 200 people during construction and creating over 1,500 jobs post-completion.

The project also aims to enhance connectivity through sustainable transport infrastructure, linking the North and South Quays with new civic spaces, greenways, and transport bridges.
