Dublin and Cork airport operator daa reported a 9pc increase in revenue to €1.1bn in 2024, compared to the previous year.

Profits after tax before exceptions rose by 35pc to €236m, reflecting strong passenger growth.

Dublin Airport experienced 34.6m passengers, a 3.3pc rise from 2023, while Cork Airport had over 3m international travellers.

A dividend of €68m is set to be paid to the Irish state, marking a 120pc increase from €31m the prior year.

Peter Dunne, Group Chief Financial Officer at daa shared: “The overall increase in passenger numbers in 2024 drove a significant improvement in turnover, EBITDA and profit after tax, when compared with 2023.”

Kenny Jacobs, Chief Executive Officer of daa shared: “As we look to 2025 and beyond it is clear that international connectivity has never been more critical as tariff, cost, economic and slow planning headwinds threaten Irish tourism and exports.”

Basil Geoghegan, Chair of the daa shared: “Despite passenger demand and stated Government policy, our ability to invest and provide vital connectivity is severely hampered. The current and most immediate restriction is the outdated 32m terminal passenger cap which dates from 2007.”
