Bord Bia Bloom, now in its 19th year, takes place at Dublin’s Phoenix Park and expects over 100,000 visitors over five days.
The event features 21 show and feature gardens, focusing on sustainability and climate change.
Community involvement is evident through 11 ‘Postcard Gardens’ created by groups across the country, alongside environmental and conservationist exhibitions.
Last year, attendees made sustainable choices, refilling reusable bottles and using public transport, demonstrating a commitment to eco-friendliness.
President Michael D Higgins will officially open the festival today, which runs until Monday, 2 June, from 9am to 6pm daily.
Organisers shared: “Bord Bia Bloom is aiming to be the most sustainably operated large-scale event in the country. Last year over 21,000 litres of water were used to refill reusable bottles at hydration stations. Two tonnes of used coffee grounds were collected and donated to the OPW for use in composting. Over 20,000 visitors travelled to the event using public transport.”
