The north coast is set to create its first new links golf course in over a century, announced by the Galgorm Collection for Bellarena with a budget of around £30m..
The new championship-standard course will be located between Portrush and Limavady, joining existing prestigious courses on the north coast.
The project plans to create 300 jobs in the area and aims for development work to begin as early as next year, with a targeted opening date in 2029.
Tourism Northern Ireland reported that golf tourism generated a record £86m for the region last year, with positive prospects from upcoming events such as The British Open in Portrush.
Colin Johnston shared, “Our exciting plans to develop a new 18-hole links golf course at Bellarena on Ireland’s stunning north west coast will deliver a once-in-generation opportunity.”
