Dublin City Council will host ‘Opera in the Open’ for its 26th year, featuring free lunchtime opera performances that commence today.

Performances will occur every Thursday from 1pm to 2pm at the Civic Offices Amphitheatre, running until 28th August. Each show presents abridged versions of popular operas, narrated in English, making them accessible to all.

The 2025 programme includes works by Bizet, Mozart, Handel, and Donizetti, offering a variety of operatic experiences. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs for comfort, and the venue accommodates wheelchair users.

Ray Yeates Dublin Council Arts and Cultural Practitionerl shared, “Opera in the Open has become one of the great annual traditions supported by Dublin City Council. We invite everyone to experience the joy of opera in this unique and accessible format right in the heart of the city.”
