Total demand for air cargo in July 2025 rose by 5.5pc compared to July 2024. Asia-Pacific airlines led with an 11.1pc year-on-year demand increase and a capacity rise of 7.3pc.

European carriers reported a 4.1pc increase in air cargo demand with capacity up 4.0pc.

North American cargo growth was slowest at 0.7pc, with capacity decreasing by 0.6pc. Trade lane growth included a 13.5pc rise in Europe-Asia traffic, marking 29 consecutive months of expansion.

Willie Walsh shared, “Air cargo demand grew 5.5pc in July, a strong result. A sharp decline in e-commerce was likely offset by shippers frontloading goods. It is important to keep a broad perspective on the global network.”
