Iberia Express is expanding its winter operations in the Canary Islands by adding 30,000 seats and 116 flights from October 2025 to January 2026, filling the gap left by Ryanair’s service cuts.
The enhancements include a 5pc increase in capacity to key destinations, with Tenerife Norte gaining 15,000 seats and eight additional daily flights.
Iberia Express will utilise fuel-efficient Airbus A321neo aircraft for this expansion, offering competitive fares starting at €13 for residents and €20 for non-residents to Gran Canaria.
Ryanair has responded to increased airport charges by reducing its winter schedule, cutting a total of one million seats, with significant impacts on regional connectivity.
The swift response from Iberia Express has been positively received by tourism operators, reflecting confidence in Spain’s tourism market amid recent aviation challenges.
