Heathrow Airport was successfully reopened Terminal 4 by 8:27 PM yesterday evening, having been evacuated due to a suspected hazardous materials incident.
Emergency services, including the Metropolitan Police and London Fire Brigade, responded promptly and confirmed no hazardous substances were found.
Approximately 21 passengers reported minor injuries during the incident but could be treated on-site, with one needing hospitalisation.
The disruption was exacerbated by London Underground strikes and troubling social media footage, which caused causing widespread confusion among stranded passengers.
Airlines which use Terminal 4 include Air France, Qatar Airways, and Etihad Airways. Flights by Aer Lingus (T2) and British Airways (T5) were not affected.
