Wicklow based broadcaster Craig Doyle has featured the Causeway Coastal Route on England’s ITV This Morning as a dupe for the Austrian Alps in the Destination Dupes series, backed by Tourism Ireland.
The segment covered the route’s offerings, from the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge crossing to the Giant’s Causeway rock formations.
Doyle stopped at Broughgammon Farm for Irish pork stew as a stand-in for Austrian beef goulash. The visit included a tasting at Old Bushmills Distillery for local whiskey.
The show reached millions of English viewers, promoting the coastal path’s draws.
Judith Cassidy shared: “We are thrilled that Craig and the ‘Destination Dupes’ team have selected the Causeway Coastal Route as a brilliant alternative to the Austrian Alps. This breathtaking stretch of Northern Ireland’s coastline truly has it all – from the exhilarating Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge to the world-famous Giant’s Causeway. Visitors can enjoy everything from artisan farm shops to award-winning distilleries, all wrapped up in our signature warm welcome.”
