Jamaica expects full tourism operations to have returned by 15 December 2025 after Hurricane Melissa.
The Hurricane Melissa Recovery Task Force is completing assessments, product rehabilitation, and service readiness. A Tourism Resilience Coordination Committee is synchronising public and private sector actions. Repairs are focussed on resorts, attractions, airports, ports, and key corridors. Progress updates have been issued regularly through the Ministry of Tourism.
Minister Edmund Bartlett shared “Recovery cannot be left to chance. We are aligning marketing, communications, infrastructure repairs, aid, logistics, and every enabling support behind a single objective: full industry operation by December 15. Progress will be tracked through the Ministry of Tourism with regular public updates, so workers, visitors, and partners can plan with confidence”
