Exploris Expeditions & Cruises has ceased operations after a French court ruling in response to its entry into liquidation.
The Exploris One, previously Silver Explorer, lies idle in Las Palmas, Canary Islands, with all future cruises cancelled. The company failed to present a viable recovery plan, leading to the closure of offices and loss of 40 land-based jobs.
Efforts to secure new partners and submit takeover bids since September proved insufficient. Teams remain available until office closure to assist with administrative procedures.
A written statement from Exploris team shared “The court considered that the proposals received were not sufficiently developed. We are deeply sorry that we cannot honour our commitments.”
