Irish travel writer Domhnall O’Donoghue was recognised by England’s Guild of Travel Writers prepares to host its annual Gala Awards Dinner at One Marylebone, marking the organisation’s 65th anniversary. The event held on the eve of World Travel Market at ExCeL London, drew editors, journalists and broadcasters from across the travel industry. 

Domhnall O’Donoghue was Travel Extra Journalist of the Year Award winner for 2023, recognised for a body of work published in the Sunday Times, Ireland of the Welcomes, Belfast Telegraph, Woman’s Way and familytraveller.com, with further acclaim in the best sustainable category for a Panama City Beach feature. 

Previous winners at the awards include Ireland’s Pól ó Conghaile and Isabel Conway. The event featured the launch of Around the World in 65 Years, a new anthology of 101 travel stories by guild members.
