
Christopher Brooke chair of Tourism Ireland assured Ireland’s delegates to World Travel Market in London that the industry is expanding with full north-south support.
Ireland fielded 80 enterprises at the event holding 3,500 meetings at World Travel Market. Tourism supports 300,000 jobs and €6bn revenue while maintaining sustainability.
Visiororsto the Irish stand included buyers from include Britain, Europe, North America, Australia, China, India and Middle East. Ireland is increasing its presence yearly at the London trade fair. Mr Brooke praised the growth of Ireland’s participation year on year. He stressed the importance of old and new connections to keep the island of Ireland on global travel itineraries.
Christopher Brooke shared “tourism continues to be a cornerstone of our economy, supporting in the region of 300,000 jobs, with a revenue of the region of €6bn. Every year we equal it and get brighter and bigger, and we have more participants. These connections, both old and new, are vital to ensure Ireland’s Sams brightly on the global stage.”
