Minister Dara Calleary has revealed €12.3m in funding for 206 community projects under the 2025 CLÁR programme on 28 November.
Funding supported sports clubs, playgrounds, astro-turf pitches, walking tracks, spectator stands and community centre upgrades nationwide. Specific provision targeted Gaeltacht areas and offshore islands under Measure 1 and Measure 3. Kiltimagh Knock United in County Mayo received just over €50,000 for a new two-bay spectator stand. Total CLÁR allocation for 2025 reached €14 million, the highest since the scheme returned in 2016.
Dara Calleary shared: “Today’s announcement of over €12 million will see 206 projects being delivered in communities across the country and on our offshore Islands. I was particularly pleased to include a specific provision for projects in Gaeltacht areas this year.”
With today’s announcement, I have now allocated €14 million to projects under CLAR this year – the highest allocation since the scheme was reintroduced in 2016.”
