Waterways Ireland has revealed designs to revive almost 4km of the Ulster Canal as part of its third phase.

The restoration targeted Monaghan’s tourism industry with a multi-million euro investment.

Senior bosses from Waterways Ireland prepared the crucial phase of the historical corridor.

The Clones Marina opened to the public in June 2024.The project promised a major boost to local tourism through completed canal works
