Aeromexico has joined the IATA Turbulence Aware programme and increased coverage across Latin America. The addition raises daily flight reports to more than 3,200 which represents a 25pc rise from 2024 levels. The airline contributes data from its 90 Boeing aircraft fleet.
IATA collates anonymised reports from more than 30 airlines worldwide. The system shares information almost instantaneously with pilots who adjust services or routes as required. Peter Cerda serves as Regional Vice President of the Americas for IATA.
Cuitlahuac Gutierrez holds the position of SVP Institutional Relations at Aeromexico. The programme improves safety and passenger comfort through real-time weather observations. Participation from Latin American carriers continues to grow.
