Air Cambodia has firmed a plan to acquire up to twenty C909s by signing a purchase agreement with COMAC, with the first deliveries due from the second half of 2026. The deal, signed in Shanghai on 17 July 2026, follows a memorandum of understanding from September 2025 covering 10 firm orders and 10 options. Cambodia’s State Secretariat of Civil Aviation signed a separate memorandum with COMAC to support C909 operations and wider civil aviation cooperation.
Prime Minister Hun Manet stated the government would support coordination between COMAC and relevant ministries and institutions. Air Cambodia said the agreement made it the first foreign flag carrier to place a bulk order for the C909. Outside China, only TransNusa and Lao Airlines operate the type.
Air Cambodia operates a fleet of six aircraft comprising two A320-200s, one A321-200, and three ATR72-600s. It also has a firm order for ten B737-8s.
