AirAsia and Indonesia AirAsia suspend all flights to Darwin from 28 April 2026 due to commercially unsustainable passenger demand.
The suspension affects 3w services from Kuala Lumpur and Denpasar launched in 2025 and 2026. Capacity will be redeployed to increase frequencies on Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth routes.
Indonesia AirAsia launches a new Melbourne-Denpasar route on 21 March 2026. The group remains open to resuming Darwin flights if market conditions improve.
Amanda Woo shared that this capacity will be redeployed to other Australian gateways.
