AirAsia X has approved a name change to AirAsia Group following a shareholder vote. The special resolution received 99.9959pc of votes in favour at the annual general meeting on 25 June 2026. A total of 1,376,985,778 shares supported the proposal while 56,744 voted against.
AirAsia X shareholders consolidated AirAsia and AirAsia Aviation Group into the holding company as part of corporate restructuring. They spun off non-aviation subsidiaries into Capital A. The company operates from Kuala Lumpur International.
AirAsia X (D7) and AirAsia (AK) maintain their flight operations under the new structure. The vote took place at the company’s annual general meeting.
