AirAsia X has proposed changing its company name to AirAsia Group. The proposal remains subject to shareholder approval at the forthcoming 19th annual general meeting. The Companies Commission of Malaysia has approved the reservation of the proposed name on 24 February 2026.

The change, if approved, will take effect once the commission issues a notice of registration for the new name. AirAsia X has operated Airbus A330-300 aircraft from Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
