ANA Holdings achieved a substantial first-quarter operating revenue of 672.7 billion yen, a record high for the first quarter, driven by strong performance in the air transportation business. International operations lifted results in both passenger and cargo, with operating revenue from international passenger services increasing 20% year-over-year as ANA captured strong inbound and outbound demand to and from Japan. International cargo operating revenue reached 2.6 times the prior-year level, achieved by optimising the network with Nippon Cargo Airlines, which was consolidated from the second quarter of the previous fiscal year, and by maximising capture of AI-related demand.
Operating income reached 20.7 billion yen, with operating expenses increasing due to fuel costs, offset by revenue maximisation through dynamic pricing. Other income/loss reached 1.7 billion yen, ordinary income reached 22.5 billion yen, and net income attributable to owners of the parent reached 19.4 billion yen. Operating revenue increased by 124.0 billion yen from the prior-year period, while operating expenses increased by 140.0 billion yen.
Kimihiro Nakahori, Chief Financial Officer, stated that despite higher fuel costs, disciplined revenue management including flexible pricing helped deliver solid profitability. The company remains focused on executing its strategy and achieving its full-year profit plan while remaining agile in responding to changes in the operating environment.
