Apex Aviation has plan for Tipperary aircraft hub halted by appeal

Apex Aviation received planning permission from Tipperary County Council last month to build five commercial buildings at Lisboney Business Park in Nenagh.

The plans include an aircraft engine maintenance and storage facility with office space, three detached warehouses, an ESB substation and a security hut.

Michael Duffy from County Clare appealed the decision to An Coimisiún Pleanála on grounds including vague development description and insufficient firefighting water.

The appeal notes that large scale empty warehousing does not align with the Local Area Plan for the Strategic Employment Area.

An Coimisiún Pleanála will consider the appeal before deciding to uphold or overturn the permission
