Travelling in August has become significantly more expensive, with the cost of holidays rising by 35pc compared with June, according to recent analysis by the OCU (Organización de Consumidores y Usuarios).
A comparable trip that cost around €1,595 in July can reach €2,225 in August for the same hotel, attractions and activities. The concentration of demand in the peak summer month drives higher prices for accommodation, flights and experiences.
