The Association of Women Travel Executives has confirmed its annual International Women’s Day celebration will take place on Thursday 12 March at Opium Botanical Gardens on Wexford Street in Dublin.
The afternoon event from 12:30pm to 4:00pm invites travel industry professionals, both women and men, including members and non-members, to gather for connection and recognition within the sector. Supported by Visit Costa del Sol, the occasion features a three-course lunch, drinks, networking, spot prizes, and entertainment.
Bernie Burke, a respected industry leader and long-time associate of AWTE, will deliver a special guest address to share insights and experiences that reflect the contributions of women in travel. The event continues the “Shout Out” tradition from the previous year, where attendees can submit messages to acknowledge female colleagues and mentors, with these tributes displayed during the lunch. The gathering aims to foster meaningful connections and celebrate partnerships that sustain the industry.
Olwen McKinney, AWTE Chairperson, confirmed the focus remains on recognising individuals who support and uplift others across the travel community. Organisers invite professionals to bring colleagues and friends for an afternoon of inspiration and shared stories. Booking details are available through the AWTE website. Booking site here.
Olwen McKinney shared “This event is about celebrating our industry, building meaningful connections and recognising the incredible people who support and uplift one another. International Women’s Day provides the perfect opportunity to come together, share stories and celebrate achievements across the travel community.”
