Boeing has delivered the final three O3b mPOWER satellites, designated F11, F12 and F13, to space solutions provider SES, completing the programme’s initial 13-satellite constellation. This marks a historic milestone in the long-term strategic partnership between the companies, with the satellites adding incremental capacity to SES’s medium Earth orbit network. The constellation delivers predictable low latency, exceptional throughput and uncontended bandwidth to customers worldwide.

The satellites enable internet access in remote locations for students, physicians providing telehealth support, government organisations, mobile operators, commercial airlines and cruise lines. Boeing is also using a hardened version of the proven software-defined payload architecture for US Space Force military SATCOM programmes including Wideband Global SATCOM systems. The performance from the 10 satellites already on orbit has validated the architecture, with the completion reinforcing SES’s leadership in MEO while advancing the innovation roadmap.

The satellites are scheduled for launch from Florida in September and are expected to enter service in mid-2027. The fully operational constellation proves the effectiveness of Boeing’s software-defined payload technologies, demonstrated by the company’s ability to secure demanding missions for commercial, joint-force and allied military customers. The continued partnership demonstrates Boeing’s commitment to customer priorities and ability to innovate technology in satellite communications.
