Brittany Ferries is increasing its service frequency on the Rosslare to Cherbourg route to a daily basis, starting from October 2025.

Departures will rise from five to seven sailings each week, including a new Tuesday evening departure at 21:00.

Glenn Carr, Director for Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail, expressed delight in the partnership and noted that direct sailings have increased six-fold since Brexit. Brittany Ferries began Rosslare to Cherbourg services in January 2021, with service growth from an initial weekly offering to a daily service.

The expansion will benefit from major investments in Rosslare Europort, including new check-in facilities and the upcoming completion of Terminal 7.

Glenn Carr shared, “We are delighted to further strengthen our partnership with Brittany Ferries and welcome their expansion to a daily service in each direction on the Rosslare to Cherbourg route. There has been intense interest in additional Rosslare to Cherbourg sailings since Stena Line’s decision to cease operations on the route from the end of September.”

Brittany Ferries confirmed, “Our can-do attitude by confirming this expansion with us so quickly, capitalising on the strength of the route for passenger and freight markets alike.”
