Copa Airlines orders 40 additional Boeing 737 MAX

Copa Airlines has signed an agreement with Boeing to acquire 40 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft with options for 20 more. These join a pending previous order for 40 aircraft which allows the airline to incorporate up to 100 new jets over the next eight years. The fleet could exceed 200 jets by 2034.

Deliveries of the new aircraft are scheduled between 2030 and 2034. The agreement has provided flexibility to choose between B737-8, B737-9 and B737-10 types. Copa Airlines currently operates nine B737-700s, 57 B737-800s, 18 B737-8s, 32 B737-9s and two B737-800 converted freighters.
