Delta Air Lines Has Launched Daily Austin-Paris Flights for March 2027, Marking the Carrier’s First Transatlantic Service from the Texas Focus City
Delta has chosen Paris for its first transatlantic route out of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, taking off to Paris Charles de Gaulle on 27 March 2027 and operating it daily during the summer season. For the city of Austin, Delta’s announcement brings a long-awaited nonstop link to the French capital and puts a North American airline in the city’s Europe market for the first time. The route will be flown by one of the airline’s Airbus A330-900neo, equipped with Delta One Suites.
Even though Paris is new to Austin’s route map, European service from the airport dates to 2014. British Airways was the first international airline to launch transatlantic service to London Heathrow that year, followed by KLM to its hub in Amsterdam Schiphol, and Lufthansa to Frankfurt. Delta says that with its new flight, passengers arriving at Charles de Gaulle will be able to continue with Air France, its transatlantic joint venture partner, to nearly 70 destinations across Europe, India and Africa. According to GDS data, the new flight to Paris will depart Austin at 15:15, landing in Paris at 10:10 the following morning, with the return flight to Texas departing at 10:10 and arriving at 14:20.
Austin is quickly becoming one of Delta’s most interesting gateways. In 2019, on its busiest scheduled days, Delta planned 28 departures from the airport. By 2026, that number is expected to increase to 65, according to Cirium data. Delta refers to Austin as a “focus city,” meaning the airline offers enough nonstop routes to compete effectively for local travellers but does not funnel large numbers of connecting passengers through Austin as it does at a hub like Atlanta. In May 2026, Delta carried 383,783 passengers through Austin-Bergstrom, 9.4 pc higher than a year earlier and enough to place Delta ahead of American.
