Visa revealed Christmas spending in the Democratic Republic of the Congo rose 45pc year-over-year on premium cards during December 2025. International travel spend from DRC increased notably with destinations like France, China, Morocco, and the USA seeing 85pc growth among premium holders. Inbound travel spend to the DRC grew around 75pc.
Luxury retail categories such as apparel and jewelry recorded over 55pc rise in spending. The data draws from VisaNet transactions and survey estimates. Trends point to stronger holiday activity in travel and luxury sectors.
