The route has offered a new land connection between the two emirates, with additional stations planned in the coming months. The service has aimed to improve travel options for residents and visitors while supporting tourism and everyday journeys across the United Arab Emirates.
Further expansion of the network is expected as more stations come online. The rail link will provide an alternative to road transport between the two cities. Etihad Rail has developed the service as part of the UAE’s transport infrastructure programme.
