Finnair plans to challenge a €8.1m penalty proposal from the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority for a procedural breach.

The investigation focused on claims that Finnair restricted online travel agents from advertising ticket discounts.

Finnair has issued €325m in senior unsecured notes that began trading on Nasdaq Helsinki on 2 December.

Proceeds from the notes served general corporate purposes for the airline.

Finnair maintained the fine stemmed from a misunderstanding and asserted transparent actions with travel agencies.
