Finnair has signed lease agreements for two ATR72-600 aircraft as it expands its regional fleet. The turboprops are due for delivery by early autumn 2026 and will be operated by NoRRA Nordic Regional Airlines on behalf of Finnair. The airline has also agreed to lease two additional E190 aircraft in 2026.
NoRRA currently operates 12 ATR72-500s for Finnair. The new ATR72-600s will support regional capacity growth ahead of a larger fleet renewal programme. The first of 18 firm-ordered E195-E2 aircraft is scheduled to arrive in the third quarter of 2027.
Finnair has confirmed the leases will strengthen its domestic and regional network from Helsinki Vantaa. The moves form part of a phased approach to modernise and increase capacity on shorter routes.
Finnair shared in a written statement “The ramp-up of regional capacity will precede a planned fleet renewal.”
