Irish airports have handled 9.1 million passengers in the first quarter of 2026. The five main airports showed an 11 pc increase compared with the same period in 2025.
The Central Statistics Office revealed that 4.5 million passengers departed Ireland while 4.6 million arrived in the January to March period. Dublin Airport managed 84 pc of all flights with 54,494 movements.
Flight numbers rose 12 pc to 64,656 while air freight increased 15 pc to 50,265 tonnes. London Heathrow remained the top route from Dublin, Cork and Shannon.
Central Statistics Office’s release shared “A total of 9.1 million passengers passed through the five main Irish airports. The number of flights increased by 12 pc to 64,656.”
