She developed a strong understanding of the tourism industry, the members and the opportunities that exist across the county. Her appointment came at a time when County Kildare prepared to maximise several opportunities, including the National Ploughing Championships in Rathangan in September 2027 and the Irish Open at The K Club, as Kildare benefited from the increased international profile and visitor interest that came with 2027 being a Ryder Cup year. Alongside these major events, opportunities continued to develop and promote Kildare’s food, heritage, golf, equestrian, outdoor and cultural tourism offering.
