Kinsale set for more cruise visits in 2027

Kinsale has been scheduled to host at least six cruise ships in 2027 following a 2026 season that brought nearly 1,800 passengers and crew to the port town. Four main cruise calls took place during 2026 according to a presentation at the Bandon Kinsale Municipal District Council meeting.

The vessels hosted in 2026 included Le Lyrial with 245 passengers and 145 crew Le Bellot with 184 passengers and 118 crew L’Austral with 264 passengers and 145 crew and Europa with 408 passengers and 285 crew. The Europa visit featured a Cork Cultural Show and gift exchange on the pier for Ireland’s EU presidency celebrations.

Ongoing community investments include €120,000 in conservation works on the main pier’s Galleon Mast. Cork County Council has updated the Kinsale Museum and trained volunteers to support the town’s tourist trade.
