Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas has officially resumed its flight operations to Caracas from Madrid and Tenerife Norte, with services commencing on 8 September 2026 following the partial reopening of Simón Bolívar International Airport. The Spanish carrier had previously suspended its core Venezuelan services through Valencia due to severe infrastructural damage caused by earthquakes earlier this summer, operating reduced frequencies via Arturo Michelena International Airport. The airline will run its Madrid-Caracas route four times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays until 24 October 2026, with outbound flights departing Madrid at 13:00 and arriving in Caracas at 16:30.
The Tenerife Norte-Caracas connection resumes its weekly service, with flights departing Caracas for Tenerife on Saturdays at 20:30 and the return leg operating on Sundays at 11:55. Plus Ultra continues to maintain its Monday frequency connecting Madrid to Valencia’s Arturo Michelena International Airport, providing continuity for passengers in that region. The carrier coordinates closely with Venezuelan aviation authorities to restore complete operational normalcy, as the Simón Bolívar International Airport currently operates via temporary terminals at approximately 25% capacity.
Other major carriers including Air Europa, Iberia and American Airlines have similarly restarted their specific operations to Caracas this week, signalling a gradual recovery in Venezuela’s international air connectivity. The resumed services represent a significant step for Spanish-Venezuelan travel links, with Plus Ultra positioning its multi-hub approach to serve both mainland and Canary Islands passengers. The airline confirmed that it is maintaining close coordination with Venezuelan aviation authorities to completely restore operational normalcy across all affected routes.
