Prague airport wins overall Routes Europe 2026 Award

Prague Airport has secured the Overall Winner title at the Routes Europe 2026 Awards held in Rimini. The airport also triumphed in the 5 to 20 million passengers category. The event recognised excellence in airport and destination marketing on 19 May 2026.

Prague Airport handled 17.8 million passengers in 2025 which represented an 8.5pc increase from 2024. The airport added 46 new routes including 24 new destinations and welcomed 12 new airlines. Long haul services expanded to Seoul Abu Dhabi Toronto Sharjah and Taipei.

Florence Airport won the under 5 million passengers category while Athens International Airport took the over 20 million passengers award. The Canary Islands Tourist Board received the destination prize and Jet2.com claimed the airline award for the third year running. Judges evaluated finalists based on route development performance and partnership work.

Jiri Vyskoc shared “In the highly competitive environment of European airports this award represents a significant achievement that we greatly value. We see it as confirmation of our long term strategy which is based on fair and open cooperation with our partners as well as the active pursuit of attractive business opportunities in air service development.”
