Ryanair has called on NATS CEO Martin Rolfe to resign after anorth air traffic control system failure. The outage delayed 155 Ryanair flights and affected almost 30,000 passengers with delays up to three hours. The airline highlighted repeated issues in England’s airspace management.
Ryanair urged the Westminster Government, CAA and NATS Board to address leadership. Staffing shortages and delays persist under current management. The airline stressed the need for improved reliability in summer travel.
The latest failure follows the 2023 major collapse and a recent breakdown in bristol. Airlines and passengers face higher charges for reduced service levels.
Neal McMahon shared “How many more system failures do passengers have to suffer before Martin Rolfe accepts responsibility and resigns? Passengers deserve better. Airlines deserve better. NATS’ staff deserve better.”
