Ryanair check in rules to change from November 10

Starting 10 November 2026, Ryanair is officially updating its rules so that airport check-in desks and bag drop services close strictly 60 minutes before scheduled departure, moving up from the previous 40-minute cutoff. If you do not complete your check-in or drop off your bags by this one-hour deadline, you may be denied boarding without receiving a refund.

The budget airline is introducing this 20-minute adjustment to give passengers more buffer time to navigate airport security and passport control queues, reducing the risk of people missing their flights during busy travel periods. The change aligns with a broader push for efficiency as Ryanair continues to roll out self-service bag-drop kiosks across more than 95% of its airports

Passengers checking in bags are directly affected. You must ensure you arrive at the airport early enough to complete your bag drop at least 60 minutes before the flight.

Passengers with cabin baggage only are unaffected by this specific deadline change. As long as you check in online via the Ryanair App ahead of time, you can still bypass the desks entirely and head straight through airport security.

Passengers are advised to double-check your flight details on the official Ryanair Help Centre or terms of carriage before heading to the airport next month.
