
Saudi Arabia has revealed plans for a third new national airlines to support Vision 2030 tourism goals.
Riyadh Air begins limited operations in November 2025 as the second flag carrier for international tourists.
A budget carrier based in Dammam targeted 24 domestic and 57 international routes by 2030 with 45 planes. The Dammam airline is forming a joint venture with Air Arabia, Nesma Group and KUN Investment Holding.
A discount carrier in Medina will focus on religious tourism to ease pilgrim access beyond Jeddah.
Fahd Hamidaddin shared “They say build it and they will come, but we are still building our giga-projects, and they are yet to open at scale. They also say a successful national airline builds a destination, and they are yet to start. There is Riyadh Air, Saudia, and three more air carriers to be announced”
