Kirkland Investments Limited has submitted a planning application to expand Limerick’s Savoy Hotel. The proposal has aimed to add 28 new bedrooms and bring new life to vacant city centre commercial units along Bedford Row and Henry Street. The redevelopment has encompassed properties at Nos 4 to 7 Bedford Row and Nos 8 to 9 Henry Street.
First-floor spaces have been designed to link with The Savoy Hotel Limerick to create 28 new guest rooms. Ground and mezzanine levels of former retail spaces have been proposed to become a licensed café and restaurant. Basement and ground areas have been planned to house multimedia facilities, a bar and meeting rooms. Plans have featured a new canopy, signage, a winter garden extension and bike parking.
The project has aimed to reduce city centre vacancies and follows the hotel’s recent acquisition by the Moran Hotel Group. Public submissions have been open until 28 October 2026. A final decision has been expected on 18 November 2026.
