Siobhán McManamy has been awarded the Eileen O’Mara Walsh Special Recognition Award at the Irish Tourism Industry Confederation Annual Conference. The conference, themed “Adjust, Adapt, Accelerate: Irish Tourism in Uncertain Times,” has taken place at The Convention Centre Dublin on 1 October 2026.
McManamy joined Tourism Ireland at its inception in 2002. She held leadership positions heading operations in Germany, the Netherlands and the Nordic region. She served as interim chief executive and currently acts as director of markets and partnerships. ITIC leadership and Tourism Ireland chief executive Alice Mansergh presented the award and praised McManamy for her wise counsel, tireless partnership and strategic impact across the industry.
The Eileen O’Mara Walsh Special Recognition Award is named in memory of the founder of ITIC. The award honours individuals whose leadership and contributions have shaped the Irish tourism sector.
Siobhán McManamy shared: Throughout my career at Tourism Ireland, I’ve been guided by a simple belief: our job is to serve the tourism industry and support its success. Being recognised by that same industry makes this award especially meaningful.
The real credit belongs to the remarkable tourism businesses across the island of Ireland, the many colleagues and partners I’ve worked alongside, and the exceptional team at Tourism Ireland. Their dedication, resilience, expertise and friendship have shaped every success.
