Spanish airport operator Aena has launched what it desires as an “enchanting Christmas campaign” across its network, transforming terminals into a magical universe complete with lights, decorations, and exclusive performances by popular band Estopa.
The initiative, running through the holiday season, aims to delight passengers with family-friendly installations and surprise musical sets, enhancing the travel experience during peak winter departures.
Officials noted the events would boost festive spirits while promoting sustainable practices in airport operations. This collaboration underscores Aena’s commitment to blending culture and convenience forms of holiday travellers.
Spain’s airports managed 29.5m passengers in October 2025, a 4.4pc rise from the prior year, as Aena revealed figures underscoring the nation’s tourism resurgence. Major hubs like Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas and Josep Tarradellas Barcelona–El Prat led the charge with notable increases, while regional spots such as Palma de Mallorca and Malaga–Costa del Sol also posted strong gains.
Year-to-date totals hit 276.6m travellers, up 3.9pc, with operations climbing 4.4pc to 2.3m flights. This momentum highlights aviation’s pivotal role in linking global visitors to Spain’s coastal and urban draws, promising sustained economic lift for hospitality amid peak winter bookings.
