Sunrise Airways has suspended all flights to and from Port au Prince until further notice due to security concerns after an aircraft sustained bullet damage on 23 November.

A domestic flight from Les Cayes to Port au Prince received bullet strikes during landing in the capital with no injuries reported. The carrier issued a statement that it reversed the suspension only when conditions permitted safe operations. Sunrise Airways restarted Port au Prince services earlier in the year following a previous halt from gang violence and a hub shift to Cap Haitien.

The Haitian government provided a supplementary financial guarantee to cover damages and victims alongside the airline’s insurance.
