TAROM has taken delivery of its first Boeing 737-8, with the aircraft due to reach Bucharest Henri Coanda on the evening of 8 September 2026. The brand-new YR-BGO was first moved under a Boeing flight code from Renton to Seattle Boeing Field on 19 August.
TAROM took formal delivery in Seattle and the aircraft was ferried from the United States west coast to Reykjavik Keflavik on 7 September and continued onwards to Bucharest the following day. The second 737-8, YR-BGN, is set to enter the fleet within days.
The fleet update comes as the company’s new management revises its restructuring plan due to ongoing financial difficulties. TAROM’s fleet currently comprises two ATR72-500s, four ATR72-600s, three B737-700s and four B737-800s. The airline has another eight 737-8s on order.
