Priority Pass has recognised airport lounges in Brazil, Saudi Arabia and Spain for projects spanning neurodivergent accessibility, waste reduction and recycled design, alongside three employees honoured for exceptional passenger service. Airport lounges in Brazil, Saudi Arabia and Spain have won Priority Pass’s 2026 Pioneer of the Year awards for three sharply different projects. The awards put BRT Lounge Porto Seguro, Cozaya Lounge at King Fahd International Airport, and A Coruña Sala VIP Lounge at the centre of the final round of this year’s Priority Pass Excellence Awards.
BRT Lounge’s winning feature is a dedicated Calm Room at Porto Seguro Airport, a coastal gateway in Brazil. Priority Pass described it as a quiet area for neurodivergent travelers who find the noise, crowds and visual demands of an airport difficult to manage. At King Fahd International Airport in Saudi Arabia, Cozaya Lounge received recognition for changes to its daily operations. the team reduced food waste, removed single-use plastics, and trained staff to maintain those practices without affecting service.
A Coruña Sala VIP Lounge in northwestern Spain incorporates recycled material into the structure of the room itself. Its acoustic panels were made from thousands of plastic bottles, according to Priority Pass, while displays inside the lounge explain the materials used in the design. Collinson International, which owns Priority Pass, reports more than 1,900 lounges and travel experiences across 865 airports in over 143 markets. Collinson CEO Christopher Evans shared that the winners reflected the people and ideas shaping the airport experience.
