Tourism NI is this week hosting a group of tour operators from the Republic of Ireland for a familiarisation trip to showcase Belfast during Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann. The group, which includes representatives from AC Group, Brack Tours, EI Travel, Horizons by Tour Partner Group, Irish Rugby Tours – Group Sports & Rugby Travel, Kleemann Tours, Sheenco Travel and BEM Ireland, have been exploring the city as part of a packed itinerary, which included a visit to St George’s Market and a Taste & Tour experience. They also took part in a Belfast Music Walking Tour, which showcased the wealth of musical talent in the city. Stops on the tour included Kelly’s Cellars, First Presbyterian Rosemary Street, modern music venues, record shops, outdoor venues and a Victorian Music Hall.
Tourism NI is this week also hosting a number of international media, broadcasters, travel journalists, photographers and digital content creators from key tourism markets including Great Britain, Germany, France, Spain, the Netherlands, United States and New Zealand. The group includes representatives from leading outlets such as The Telegraph, Evening Standard London, Radio France, Radio France Internationale, Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR), Radio Nacional De Espana, WSM Radio Nashville, Stuff.co.nz, Escape.Video, Zin Magazine, House of Coco and Belle About Town, alongside internationally renowned photographer Jeremy Nicholl and musician/influencer Jessica Willis Fisher.
The trip was designed to highlight the international profile of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann and Ireland’s rich and diverse tourism offering, strengthen strategic partnerships, engage key decision-makers, and reinforce the destination’s position as a leading location for leisure, cultural and business tourism. The participants are taking part in a Tourism NI programme, in partnership with Tourism Ireland, which is providing a broad introduction to the scale, atmosphere and cultural significance of the Fleadh, while also showcasing Belfast and NI as a world-class destination for cultural tourism.
