Waitrose has partnered with Lagardère Travel Retail to stock its products at four Relay stores in Heathrow Terminal 2. The premium grocer has introduced food-to-go items including wraps, salads, sushi, snack pots, fresh fruit, baked goods, granola, juices and smoothies plus meal deals and No. 1 range products. One landside and three airside outlets have featured Waitrose & Partners branding.
The first airside store has opened on the upper level of Terminal 2 with daily hours from 5am to 10pm while the remaining three outlets have followed before the end of 2026. The agreement has marked Waitrose’s initial entry into the airport retail sector. The stores have targeted convenience purchases for departing and arriving passengers.
The development has formed part of Waitrose’s expansion in the on-the-go sector alongside its existing presence at petrol stations and motorway services. The group has operated around 320 stores with the majority in town centres. Additional Welcome Break franchise stores have opened this year as part of a broader investment programme.
